Naples, a Paradise town on the Gulf Coast

Naples, Florida is not only famous for its high-end shopping, world-class arts and culture, sophisticated dining, family fun and wild outdoors it is also known to be a Paradise on the Gulf Coast.

Naples was founded 1886 by former Confederate general and Kentucky U.S. Senator John Stuart Williams . Travelers surpassing the bay described it’s beauty as Naples in Italy and the name Naples stuck. The town starts where US41 ends and 5th Avenue starts.

Downtown

5th Ave downtown Naples is the setting for most the towns events. Just like in New York City 5th Ave is the main place for dining and shopping. West on 5th Ave the second half is residential and closer to the beach. The access to the beach in Naples is beautifully set between gorgeous residences with plenty of access to public parking. Parking is free for all Florida residents. For visitors the is a parking fee.

Wedding Beach

Three blocks south of 5th Ave you will find a very nice beach access. The beach is called Wedding Beach. The beach is beautiful and looks like it is straight out of a fairy tail. Some of the beach accesses are private since they are up close to the residences. This keeps the beach less crowded, but also harder to access for the public.

Unique Landscaping

Another very unique thing with Naples on the Gulf Coast is the way landscaping is done. Many residences has high well trimmed hedges. The hedges are both practical and beautiful accessories that adds extra uniqueness the area. The hedges help keeping the home owners privacy. This special landscaping gives the area a very classy touch. 

Old Naples

If you drive a half mile south of 5th Ave you find another shopping and dining district. The areas is called 3rd Street South. This area is considered the birth place of Naples on the gulf Coast and is called Old Naples. The primary beach access called Naples Pier is located here. The beach has a very unique vibe and you don’t see any high rise buildings emphasizing the paradise life. This is one of the most peaceful areas with 5 miles of some of the most beautiful beach mansions in the world. 

Prestigious areas

The south part of the Old Naples is divided into two different areas. It is Aqualane Shores and Port Royal. This is one of the most prestigious areas in the US and also known to be one of the most friendly. Many homes are located on the water and have access to the Gulf Coast on the gulf of Mexico with Gordon’s pass close by. There are thousands of homes here that looks like they are straight out of a magazine. 

Commercial area

North of US41 is a commercial area. Coastland center mall, shopping area and condo buildings and hotels under construction here.

Neighborhoods

Doctors pass is where famous Lowdermilk beach is located right on the Gulf Coast. This are is lovely and enjoyable. The neighborhood Moorings is located here is this wonderful area. It has several bays with many water front homes. This is a community that feels very alive.  

Further north of Moorings you will find Parkshore and Pelican Bay. Green areas and many golf courses are located here. The more north of downtown we go the taller the buildings get that dominates the shore line. Vanderbilt Beach is more north with a bay and access to the Gulf Coast waters.

Gated communities

For 4 miles between US41 to I75 are mostly gates communities. Many of these communities a built around golf courses and country clubs. This is why this paradise town on the Gulf Coast holds a total of 97 golf coursers. Here is where you can find most of the famous golf courses. It is in this area where you also find Tamiami trail with direct access all the way to Miami!
